To ensure your Calm-Mat looks and feels its best, please follow these care instructions.

Opening Your Calm-Mat

When your Calm-Mat arrives, it will be tightly packaged for safe shipping. This means it may appear creased, wrinkled, or slightly compressed at first—don’t worry, this is completely normal.

Step 1: Unroll your Calm-Mat and lay it flat on the floor. Leave it to settle for about an hour.
Step 2: To smooth out creases, lightly steam or iron the mat:

Use a handheld clothes steamer on a low, fabric-safe setting.

If ironing, choose low heat with high steam, and always test on a small hidden area first.

If your iron doesn’t have a strong steam setting, place a clean, damp (not wet) tea towel between the Calm-Mat and the iron to help generate steam.

After steaming/ironing, your Calm-Mat is ready to use. Over the next 7–14 days, it will continue to naturally expand and regain its full plush shape.

Everyday Care

Life happens—spills, crumbs, and mess are no problem. Your Calm-Mat is made to be durable, stain-resistant, and easy to care for:

Dry spills (crumbs, dust, pet hair): A quick vacuum is all you need.

Damp or sticky spills: Wipe gently with a damp cloth or use wet wipes.

Freshen up: Sprinkle baking soda over the surface, leave for 10 minutes, then vacuum. Carpet freshening powders (including pet-friendly ones) also work well—just follow the brand’s instructions.

For a natural refresh, place your Calm-Mat outside in the sun and fresh air for a few hours (avoid grass or soil). UV light helps neutralise bacteria that can cause odours. Don’t leave it outside for more than one day, and keep it away from rain or damp conditions.
